Registered Nurse POSITION:
Change the lives of our patients/residents and at the same time enjoy the rewards of fully knowing your patients/residents and their families as a Registered Nurse - RN. You will provide care for a variety of patients/residents with an array of complex diagnoses leading to enhanced knowledge and skills in many different areas.
CERTIFICATION / REQUIREMENTS:
- 2+ years-Experience with routine newborn care, ability to attend deliveries and resuscitate infants at delivery. Ability to transition infants after delivery
- Years of experience Preferred: 2 + years’ experience with level 2 babies (premature deliveries, 32 weeks and above)
- First-timers are not accepted
- License REQ: SC or Multi State/Compact RN license
- Certs REQ (MUSC only accepts American Heart Association (AHA)): BLS, NRP
Certs Preferred: STABLE - Experience Required: Level 2 Nursery. Needs to have experience in resuscitate newborn at delivery and stabilize premature newborn for transfer to higher level of care.
- Experience Preferred: Mother-Baby
1 to 3+ years management/supervisory experience - Shift: Will accept 3x12s or 4x12s-6:45p-7:15a, Holiday rotation
- Ratios: 1:3
- Weekend REQ: Every other weekend as needed
- 2 on-call shifts every 6 weeks for those working 3x12s
- Floating is required to sister units. As the nursery RN, they will be expected to catch and transition babies in L&D within the 1st 2-3 hours of life. Will also be expected to float to Mom-Baby where they could take a newborn assignment. (Mom-Baby/Couplet Care preferred)
Current CPR/BLS certification, Physical, TB test

Local Rule: MUSC prioritizes non-local candidates first. Radius rule is 60 miles. Locals will be considered at local rate

Previous perm staff(this includes PRN) must be separated from the MUSC system for 1 year before returning as a traveler.

South Carolina RN License: MUSC will prioritize candidates that have SC license in hand. We will still consider candidates with a pending license at the time of submission – please provide proof that they have applied for the license or confirm that they can complete the SC walk-through process. Traveler will not be cleared to report to the facility until SC license is issued/active.

Hurricane Season** Travelers should be aware that during hurricane season, all employees and contractors may be assigned to emergency response teams. If this is a problem, please ensure travelers do not confirm a new or ext assignment during the season. Hurricane season runs from June through November each year. The peak months for hurricane activity are August and September.
