Description:
Nuclear Medicine Technologists work at hospitals and imaging labs alongside Nuclear Medicine Phyicians to examine a patient’s internal organs, bones, and muscles for potential abnormalities. Their role is to give radioactive medication to patients through injection, inhalation, or oral administration, allowing the radiation to make it easier to see infections, tumors, or signs of an internal disorder. Nuclear Medicine Technologists use imaging technology to capture images for the attending Physician to interpret. They are in charge of implementing safety procedures to protect patients and medical staff from unnecessary exposure to radiation during treatment.
Requirements/Preferred:
- Nuclear Med Tech/PET CT
- No holidays
- No call required
- Weekend REQ: Unit performs PETCT scans on Saturdays twice a month. Maybe required to work 1 or 2 Saturdays depending on unit needs (per month)
- No Floating Req to Sister Facilities
- 1 year experience
- First-timers are accepted
- Trauma Level REQ: Level 1 and II trauma is preferred
- Equipment/Scanner Exp REQ: Siemens
- BLS
- NMTCB(N) or ARRT(N) or (CT)
- SCRQSA(State License) in Nuclear Medicine and Radiology or Computed Tomography

Previous perm staff(this includes PRN) must be separated from the MUSC system for 1 year before returning as a traveler.

South Carolina RN License: MUSC will prioritize candidates that have SC license in hand. We will still consider candidates with a pending license at the time of submission – please provide proof that they have applied for the license or confirm that they can complete the SC walk-through process. Traveler will not be cleared to report to the facility until SC license is issued/active.
